Sledding

With all the snow we have gotten lately and the mild temperatures, it has been perfect sledding weather.
Ryan took McKay and Ellie and let me stay home with Clara in the nice warm house.

The kids had a great time.

I sent McKay with Ryan not knowing if he would even try sledding and only got him to go by telling him he didn't have to go down the hill but that he could just play in the snow. Ryan was patient with McKay and let him take it at his own speed. McKay loved it and by the end was going down bigger hills all by himself.
Ellie had no problem. You can see her climbing up for another run behind McKay in the pink pants.

Thanks Dad for taking the kids! Next time I think Clara and I will come too.

The Great Outdoors!

If you call sleeping in a tent with your 6 and 4 year old in your backyard camping, then we went camping. This is a funny story. Awhile back I took McKay to a fathers-in-son camp out in my Dad's ward. It was great and McKay really enjoyed it. Ever since that camp out, he keeps bringing up that he wants to go camping again with our whole family. So one night as we were all around the table eating dinner McKay brought up that he wanted to go camping again. I thought about it for a minute and looked outside and said, lets go camping! The kids got really excited and I told them that we are going to camp in the backyard. They didn't even care what time it was, they wanted to go get in the tent and camp as soon as possible. I set up the tent, the kids got ready for bed, and we climbed in for some fun stories and to read a couple of books. I know that McKay and Ellie probably stayed up way past me, but eventually I woke up and they were fast asleep, McKay had the sleeping bag over his head and Ellie was not even in her sleeping bag. It was so fun to be out there with them. In the morning Clara had to come out and enjoy the party as well. I know that my hair is going to be the talk of the town, but you have to get the morning after picture. Ellie is our glamour girl. She had to have the pose. Everyone smile.

It was really cold in the morning, the wind was blowing. The kids were great. We just chilled in the tent for awhile. Thanks to McKay and Ellie for the great camp out, we will have to do it again and again.

Mmmmm, Fruit!

I love these little mesh food holders. Clara loves them too. They enable her to go to town on food that I would normally be scared to give her. I think she was working on a peach in this picture, and obviously enjoying it. Take a look at her shirt.

I can't believe she is almost 9 months! Before I know it she will be a year old. Wow, time flies.

Fourth of July - Pool Party

After the parade we spent the afternoon up at Grandma and Grandpa Hill's house. They had a big family/ward poolside BBQ. Ellie was in the pool all day. She even got brave enough to swim on her own, with a life jacket of course.

McKay and Ellie dancing poolside.

McKay was intent on making this huge dragon go down the slide. We had to tell him it wasn't going to work.

Luckily Ellie had her dad to swim with her all day. I know I wasn't getting in a swimsuit!

GOOOAAALLL!!!

The kids love having Ryan around because he's all about fun. On Sunday they took advantage of him being home and took him on in a game of soccer, and a little wrestling.
